Vanita Ruth Storms

Vanita Ruth Cox Storms a pillar of love, kindness, and warmth, passed away on December 27, 2024 at the age of 71. She left behind a legacy of cherished memories, invaluable wisdom, and a heart that touched countless lives. She was born on March 3, 1953 in Tupelo, Mississippi. Her infectious smile and twinkling eyes could light up a room. She loved to paint, cook for others, and spend time with her family and friends. 

Nita was more than just a Mother and Grammie she was a friend, mentor, and confidante to many. Her door was always open, her ears always listening, and her heart always willing to help. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.

Nita is survived by her daughters Lisa Coulter of Exeter son in law Chuck and Lori Collins of Visalia son in law Jason. 

Also her eight loving grandchildren Austin, Jackson, Logan, Dakota, Kyle, Molly, Claire and Kate who will deeply miss her but take comfort in the knowledge that her love, wisdom, and spirit will continue to guide them. She also leaves behind her sister Mona Atkins (Gary), nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her deeply. Her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her. Her family will be holding a private celebration of life in the spring. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any donations be made to The Marjaree Mason Center for domestic violence, a cause close to Vanita's heart.
