Lorene Helen Cassidy

Lorene Helen Cassidy (Nee Lane) passed away in the early morning hours of August 15, 2019; she was 96 years old. Lorene, the youngest of five children, was born to George and Elizabeth Lane on their farm in Lemon Cove, Ca. on Father's Day June 17, 1923. Lorene grew up in Lemon Cove helping out on the farm, raising bantam hens, following her older siblings around, and getting into mischief, as the youngest, Lorene was exposed to schoolwork at an early age and thus excelled academically, graduating early from Exeter High School in 1940 at the age of 16.

Lorene married Jake Nelson Yadon on November 9, 1941 (div. 1949) and gave birth to her only child, daughter Linda Jeanette Krukowski (Nee Yadon) on January 21, 1944. Lorene later married Joseph H. Cassidy on July 28, 1951 (div. 1956) and the two resided in Porterville, Ca. for several years. She lived in various towns throughout her life working for accounting firms but eventually returned to Lemon Cove. Lorene cared deeply for her family, taking care of her aging mother as well as Lorene's two elder sister's later on in life. No matter the circumstances, Lorene always had a story to tell, and would often remember her early life and adventures in the Lemon Cove area with great fondness.

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, her elder siblings, Harley Lane, Elsie Lindner, Howard Lane, and Dorothy Loverin Lane. Lorene is survived by her daughter, Linda Krukowski, son-in-law Leonard Krukowski, grandchildren Katia Huang (Nee Krukowski) and her spouse David Huang. Kira Marie Krukowski, Nikolas Krukowski and his spouse Elizabeth, and her great-grandchildren Eden Li Huang (age 9) Avery Mei Huang (age 5), Landon Krukowski (age 2), and Nolan Krukowski (age 8 months) as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Viewing will be held at 10:00A.M. at Smith Family Chapel  directly following will be the Funeral Service at 11:00A.M. on Thursday, August 22nd. In Lieu of flowers donations may be sent, in her honor, to the First Presbyterian Church, 32937 Sierra Drive, Lemon Cove, Ca. 93244
