Leslie Vanderhoff Obituary

Leslie Lewis Vanderhoff, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Folsom, California, on January 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on April 26, 1940, in Long Beach, California, Les was the beloved son of Carolyn and Richard Vanderhoff and the younger brother of Richard Vanderhoff, who preceded him in death.

A proud graduate of Jordan High School in 1958, Les continued his education at Long Beach Community College before embarking on a distinguished career in law enforcement. He served with the Los Angeles Police Department for five years before dedicating 34 years to the California Highway Patrol, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Les shared a remarkable bond with his wife and best friend, Anita. Together for 37 years, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to six children: Veronica Black (Steve), Cheryl Vanderhoff, Teri Duhamell (John), Michael Vanderhoff (Lori), Jenny Snell (Ken), and Kathy Crier (Clinton). His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A passionate sports fan, Les enjoyed cheering for the Lakers, Rams, and NASCAR. He also found joy in coaching his children's sports teams, creating lasting memories for both himself and his family.

A graveside service will be held to honor Les’s life on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Exeter Cemetery.

Les will be remembered for his dedication to family and community. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
