Leah Marconi Obituary

TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVE ME

When I am gone, release me, let me go.

I have so many things to see and do.

You must not tie yourself to me with tears,

Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love, you can only guess

how much you gave to me in happiness.

I thank you for the love each of you has shown,

But now it is time I travel alone.

So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must

then let your grief be comforted, by God's trust

It's only for a while that we must part

So bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on

So if you need me call and I will come.

Though you can't see or touch me,

I'll be near, and if you listen with your heart,

you will hear all my love around you soft and clear.

And when you must come this way alone.

I'll greet you with a smile and say

'WELCOME HOME''

Leah lived her life with a spirit that was equal parts love, laughter, and just the right amount of mischief.

As a wife, she was blindly devoted…loving him not because he was perfect, but because he was hers. She used to say he was like Mary Poppins, “practically perfect in every way”—and she said it with just enough of a smile to let you wonder how much of that was admiration and how much was her wonderful sense of humor. Their marriage was built on partnership, patience, and a lifetime of shared stories that only the two of them fully understood.

As a mom, when it came to last-minute plans, she was nothing short of magic. Need an outfit for a fraternity party? No problem. She could whip up a custom-made dress in no time, sending us out the door as the best dressed in the room.

And as a grandmother…watch out. While at a Mexican restaurant, she once taught her grandson to dip tortilla chips in milk because he didn’t like salsa—which, of course, resulted in a spilled glass of milk every single time. She also introduced her four-year-old grandson to “potato bread” because she didn’t care for 7-grain bread… and just like that, he refused to eat grain bread again for years. These were the kinds of moments that made time with her unforgettable—full of laughter, a little chaos, and a lot of love.

Leah had a gift for making people feel at home—whether it was through a home-cooked meal, a perfectly timed joke, or simply sitting beside you and listening. She made life feel lighter, funnier, and always a little more interesting.

She was the heart of our family—the one who kept traditions alive, made holidays magical and somehow managed to balance it all with her own unique style. Her sense of humor could brighten even the toughest moments, and her strength and kindness were felt by everyone lucky enough to know her.

To her husband she was “Babe” and the love of his life.  To her children, she was beyond words. To her grandchildren, she was pure joy—with just enough mischief to keep things interesting. To her friends, she was loyal, genuine, and the Queen of Hospitality.

Leah leaves behind her daughters, Pam and Christi; hergrandchildren, Nicole, Sean, Blake, and Neil; and her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jackson, Logan, and Charlotte; sisterCindy and brother Doug.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, humor, and just the right amount of harmless trouble.Because if she taught us anything, it’s this: life is meant to be celebrated… and sometimes, it’s okay to dip the chips in milk.
