Judith Louise Richards Kausen, age 89, of Exeter, California, returned to her Father in Heaven on April 16th, 2025. Judie, or “Brammy” as she was lovingly known by her grandchildren, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kindness, talents, and generosity touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was born on March 12th, 1936, in Stockton, California. In her youth, she developed a great love of music, including playing the piano and dancing. She graduated from Culver City High School in 1953. At the young age of 18, she met the love of her life, Richard Lee Kausen, at a New Year’s Eve party on a blind date that she didn’t want to attend. They were married a few months later on June 29th, 1955.
Judie especially enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and sewing, and loved to make gifts for her family and friends. She also loved teaching these skills to others. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved expressing her faith through music. Judie was well-known for the selfless service she provided to those she came across, which truly brought her joy.
Judie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard and granddaughter Candace Campbell. She is survived by her five children, daughters Debbie (Kenneth) Campbell, Karen (Roger) Fox, Lori (Eddie) Pritchard, Tammy (David) Jones, son David Kausen, 17 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Judie will be dearly missed, but her family is grateful she is free from physical pain and is reunited with her eternal companion.
