John D. Johns

John Johns passed away on July 16, 2025 at the age of 73. 

John was born on February 3, 1952 to Perry and Audrey Johns. John led a life dedicated to his family. John and his wife, Debbie Johns, had been together 46 years. He was a father to 12 children and a grandfather to 16 grandchildren.

He was a custodian and bus driver at Sunnyside Elementary School in Strathmore for over 15 years. 

He moved to Exeter with his family in 2002 and has lived there ever since. 

John and his wife Debbie adopted 8 children. They had a very large family who they loved very much. He will be dearly missed by all of his children. 

In 2015 John became a property caretaker for Jody and Gina Johnson. His love of caring for their horses and property kept him active and he enjoyed this aspect of his life very much. John was always a very active person, if you told him something was broken he was the first to pitch ideas on how to fix it. He considered The Johnsons his family, and they loved him very much. 

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Johns, His sons; Joshua Johns, Corey Johns, Chad Young, Alex Johns, Dominic Johns, Ezra Johns, His daughters; Evelyn Johns, Monique Johns, Carmen Johns, Jennifer Leinen, Audry Johns, and Sonia Johns. 

His horses; Pistol Pete, PJ, Royal, and April will miss him dearly, as well as his dogs Zip, and Simba. He loved them dearly, and his loss will be felt by them. 

He leaves behind lots of friends and family that will hold onto the memories of his laughter, his stubborn and determined spirit, and his love of marajuana.
