Joe E. Gordon

Joe E. Gordon passed away peacefully at home on Saturday evening, December 21, 2024, at the age of 93.

He was born in a small house in Stockton, Missouri, on July 22, 1931, the only child of Arthur and Faye Gordon.  When he was nine months old, the small family moved to Lindsay, California.  After graduating from Lindsay High School in 1949, he joined the US Air Force and served for four years, most of which during the Korean War.  After his service, he returned to the Lindsay area where he met Patricia J. Swarts, whom he married in 1958.  During this time, he went to work at Walt’s Radio and Television in Visalia.  The family later moved to Visalia.  He bought the business from Walt in 1961 and operated it until 1988.  After this, he operated Gordon’s Factory Service for several years until he decided to retire in 2015 at the age of 84.  Joe was a private pilot, owning planes with partners for several years.  He was an avid football fan.  Well respected in the community, he will be remembered as an honest, hard-working businessman.  He considered family and friends the most important in his life, and he was loyal and generous to all of them.  We will miss him tremendously.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia; his two sons, Eric and Curt; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Smith Family Chapel in Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
