Jay Haas passed away surrounded by his family on May 8th, 2025. Jay was well known in the construction and oil business as a Safety Manager who cared about his worker’s safety. Jay turned every interaction with safety into a “teachable moment” for the betterment of the worker and the company. He worked for TIC and taught at ABC Crain Training and recently retired from Aera Energy Company.
As a safety man, Jay solved problems, not with a diploma but with his brain. Everyone that interacted with him said that he was the smartest man they ever met. He was a true problem solver. To family, friends, and co-workers Jay was known as “Mr. Fix it.” There was no task too large or too small that he would not be capable of handling. Jay was highly admired in the safety industry and well loved by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Haas, his sons Ty Roberts and Donald Haas. He was a Christian man that worked to serve others. He is already missed by his family but with the promise of our faith we will see him again. This world lost a great man. God Bless.
A Celebration of Jays Life will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025 at New Life Assembly of God, 525 E. Palm St., Exeter, Ca. 93221, at 11:00 A.M.
