Frances Evelyn Crosson

Exeter's oldest resident, Frances Evelyn (Supinger) Crosson entered eternity and the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday morning April 30, 2026. Frances was born on May 2, 1921, the third of four children born to parents Sam and Ora (Wilson) Supinger. She attended Exeter schools and graduated from Exeter High School in 1939. After attending business college in Fresno she returned home and began secretarial work.

On Valentine's Day, 1943 she married Lieutenant Waldo Crosson, who was in B-17 pilot transition training, at Lovington, New Mexico. They were married for fifty nine years. During the war she helped out at the Red Cross and was a plane spotter on Rocky Hill for a time. Between the end of 1943 and 1951 she and Waldo had four children.

She did secretarial work and, for several years, was the secretary of the Methodist Church in Exeter. As Fran had accepted Christ at a young age she was faithful in making sure that her four children attended church regularly. In the late 1950's Fran began working at the Bank of America and then transferred to Security Pacific Bank where she became a loan officer. During the latter part of the 1970's Fran retired and she and Waldo spent many years living in Tucson, Arizona, during the winters, and on the Siletz River in Oregon during the summers.

Fran enjoyed fishing while living in Oregon and one year won the prize for catching the largest salmon. In addition to a lifelong love of learning her hobbies included reading, genealogy, quilting, cooking, painting, all types of card and board games and solving crossword puzzles. At the young age of one hundred and one Fran learned the game of Mah Jongg and she looked forward to her weekly games with a group of friends. Fran was a fierce competitor in all games and was still winning just days before her passing.

In December, 2000 Fran and Waldo re-established their residence in Exeter. Fran lived a long and eventful life and, due to her longevity, her husband, her brothers, Neil and Verne, and her sister Mary Louise (Supinger) White have all pre-deceased her. She is survived by her four children, Allen (Betsy) of Goodyear, AZ, Ron (Donna) of Henderson, NV, Greg (Carol) of Exeter and Jennifer Cooley of Wildomar, CA. Fran is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric (Aimee) of Eastvale, CA, Jamie of London, England, Kelli of San Diego, CA, Tim (Sarah) of Chula Vista, CA and Sarah Cosgrave (Matt) of San Diego, CA. She has also been blessed with nine great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and is survived by two nieces and three nephews.

Fran's legacy is one of caring for, and devotion to, her family, unconditional love and the impact she has had upon the lives of all she came in contact with throughout her life.

Graveside services will be held at the Exeter District Cemetery on August 1, 2026 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers friends may make donations, in her name, to the American Diabetes Association, Blood Cancer United, or any other favorite charity.
