David Odom Obituary

David Wayne Odom, 77, of Tulare, CA, passed away on March 25, 2021 after an 11 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

David was born on November 23, 1943 to Paul Odom and Hazel Boyel in Van Nuys, CA. The family moved to Ivanhoe, CA when David was 3.  After graduating from Redwood High School in 1961, He joined the United States Army.  After being discharged in 1964, he returned to Visalia where he met and wed Connie Puder in 1965, The two recently celebrated 56 years together.  They went on to have one daughter, Mindy in 1973. In 1968 David began his career at Pacific Telephone(AT&T) where he worked until his retirement in 2002. 

Dad was a strong believer in Jesus Christ.  His faith and family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.   He was unendingly proud of his girls and son-in-law and always supported them.

Anyone who knew David knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. David was predeceased by his father and mother, and brother Don Odom. He is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Mindy DeCoito and her husband Marc, and two grand-daughters Madison and Morgan of Tulare. He is also survived by his brother, James and Marilyn Odom of Visalia, sister in-law Donna Odom of Pharr, Texas, and sister Sharon and Louis Tellifson of Fresno.  Sisters and brothers-in-law Dale and Joy Mehrten, Joe and Clella West, John and Marge Puder all of Visalia and John and Kathy Cominiski of Thousand Oaks, along with multiple nephews and nieces.

The family requests that in lieu of  flowers, please make donations to the MS Society or another charity of choice . A memorial service will be held at a later date.
