Charles G. Hudspeth (aka Bobby and Sonny) ended his earthly journey on November 17, 2021 at home at the age of 89. Chuck was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and came to California in 1937 where he settled in at Cameron Creek. Upon finishing his education in Exeter, he joined the Air Force. In 1955, after the Air Force, he married the love of his life, Goldie Madewell.
Chuck did many things during his career. He was a General Contractor, Evangelist/Pastor, Exeter Cemetery District Superintendent, and Owner/Operator of Hudspeth’s Rest Home. He spent his retirement years making music, giving guitar lessons, acrylic painting, fellowshipping with many dear friends, and talking about the Bible. He also published a book on his guitar teaching method. Chuck also loved camping and traveling by car. He loved to laugh and make others laugh and was known for his great sense of humor and his jokes. Chuck adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In fact, his family meant everything to him.
Chuck leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Goldie Hudspeth, his son Ron Hudspeth and wife Raelyn, his daughters Kathy Logan and Mary Beth Hudspeth, his grandsons Jeremiah “Bud” Hudspeth, Jordan McDaniel, Ryder Munoz, and his granddaughters Melissa Hudspeth, Chloe Watkins, and Cecily Grajeda. He leaves behind 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. He also leaves behind his brother, Jack Hudspeth and wife Della. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, George & Johnnie Hudspeth, his brother Jim Hudspeth, and sister Joanne “Jodi” Beaird.
Services will be on Thursday, December 9th at 10:00 AM at the Exeter Cemetery and immediately following there will be lunch provided by the family at the Exeter Women’s Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you bless someone less fortunate, in Chuck’s honor, to allow his giving spirit to live on.
