Carol Jeannine Burdge was born April 28, 1961 and passed away surrounded by her children on August 23, 2025 in Visalia, California at the age of 64.
Jeannine was born to Johnny and Inez Burdge in Farmersville, California. Her father, Johnny preceded her in death. She has two brothers, Richard (Rick) Burdge of Farmersville, and Johnny Dale Burdge (Audrey) of Visalia.
She attended Hester and Snowden School, and later Exeter Union High School. She resided in Farmersville and Porterville throughout her adult life. Jeannine had several nieces and nephews but were more like her own children. She treated them just like her own and their children were also like her grandkids.
Jeannine worked at the Porterville State Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician for about 15 years; until making a career change and then working for the Tulare County Animal Shelter. Also, she was blessed, haha, to be born into a family that delivered the Visalia Times Delta for over 25 years! She was one of the Midnight Riders throwing newspapers, probably in her sleep. So fun! You were always required to roll, roll, and roll those papers!
Jeannine married Keith Bardwell and they had one daughter, Britney Bardwell-Burdge Ramirez; she later married Darrin Mack and they had one son, Clinton Mack. Jeannine also married Lou Halpern in her later years.
Jeannine’s children were the light of her life. Her later years were making sure she shared as much time as she could with them. Clint made his mom proud with his many degrees and “Outstanding” achievements! Britney and Felix made Jeannine a proud, “Grandma” with they had Lorenzo (Enzo). The moment Enzo entered this world, he became the light of her world “Grandma’s Little Man”. Grandma and Enzo had their own special song and dance, to My Boogie Shoes by KC and the Sunshine Band. All you could hear was laughter and love when they were doing their jig!
Jeannine enjoyed growing things and working in the yard, she could make a twig become a beautiful flower or plant. Her quiet time was spent on the back porch and she invited family and friends to join her and enjoy her favorite spot, if she wasn’t in the house that’s where you could find her, just chillin! In addition to her favorite spot on the porch, Jeannine loved the beach, at one time she would refer to her and her daughter Britney as “Natural Born Beach Bums”. She would love to just stroll along the ocean shore and look for shells enjoying Gods creation. She found peace in the swish of the water hitting the shore, with no need to talk but enjoy!
Jeannine will be missed the most by her children and grandson, and by the many nieces and nephews and family members. A “Beautiful Light” has gone out, but the “Glow” will remain for those who knew and loved her. Remember, it’s not Goodbye, it’s until we meet again!
Visitation for Jeannine will take place on Monday, September 15th at Smith Family Chapel, from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service directly following visitation.
