We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Smith Family Chapel
Bonnie Lou Ruddle, 94, passed away on July 14th.
Bonnie was born on April 28, 1928 in Wichita Kansas. She was the youngest of 7 children born to Clara and Walter Ruddle. Bonnie attended college at the Union College and SDA school in Lincoln Nebraska. While there she married Paul Shakespeare and then helped to put him through Medical school at Loma Linda. Together they served the community and the church in many places. First in while dad did his intership in the southern states. And later in several places in Washington state and California.
Bonnie was always focused on the children and the home, and kept busy with 5 children. But she also found time to be involved in various church activities, and getting everyone involved in music. After the family moved around many times, they finally settled down in one place to stay here in Lindsay Cal around 1980. Bonnie followed many interests during her later years, including the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, and extensive study of the family history. There were also many trips to Yosemite, and Sequoia and her favorite restaurant in Three Rivers. As well as an occasional trip to Hawaii, and the Midwest where she grew up, and to the North East. And daily time in her beloved garden.
Bonnie was always passionate about her belief in Jesus and her hope of family reunited one day in heaven.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Clara, and her brothers and sisters. And also her beloved Daughter Cherie.
She is survived by her sons, Berwyn of Lockeford CA, Ed of Stockton CA, and David of Hanford, and their families, and by daughter Lori of Aurora CO. And by grandchildren, Michelle Guthrie, Chad, and Scott Shakespeare, Tiffany Shakespeare Corro, Rachelle Stone, Danny and Jon Paul Shakespeare, Megan, Madeline and Cameron Shakespeare. And 6 Great Grand Children.
A Celebration Of Bonnie's Life will take place at the Fresno Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2980 E Yale Ave, Frenso Ca 93703 at 11:30 A.M. Directly following burial at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
