Arnold Torres

Arnold Torres passed away on August 5, 2025. He was surrounded by the love of his family in the comfort of his home in Exeter, CA. 

Arnold was born in Exeter on May 7, 1944 to John and Margaret Torres. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1962 and attended Moler Barber College in Fresno. He met the love of his life, Rosemary Rosales, in 1964 and they married in 1966.  

Arnold was a barber for 47 years. Even after retiring in 2010, he continued to cut the hair of family and friends. One of Arnold’s greatest pleasures was his 1972 GMC stepside pickup. He had everything customized from the transmission to the paint and had even won awards at truck shows when he was a member of the San Joaquin Stepsides truck club. He was an avid Rams fan and also enjoyed watching the Lakers, Dodgers and NASCAR.Working in his annual summer vegetable garden brought him great joy, especially when it was followed by barbeque and cold beer.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, Arnold is survived by his three children - Sherlyn Torres of Santa Cruz, Teresa Stutsman (Ken) of Exeter and Greg Torres of Exeter; four grandchildren - Lane Stutsman (Morgan) of Modesto, Jake Stutsman of Exeter, Greg Torres, Jr. (Sierra) of Visalia and Ericka Torres of Farmersville; and four great grandchildren – Antonio Rodriguez, Genesis Rodriguez, Josiah Torres and Sage Stutsman. He is also survived by his sister Sarah Subia (Alfred) of Exeter and brother Victor Torres of Visalia. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Torres Jr., and sisters Lucy Cortez and Becky Rowland. Also preceding Arnold in death was his dearly missed grandson, Kyle Stutsman. 

Viewing will be at the Smith Family Chapel in Exeter on August 14 from 3 – 5pm with the Rosary following.

Mass services will be held August 15 at Sacred Heart Church in Exeter at 9:00am, followed by graveside services at Exeter Cemetery.  

The family would like to express its deep gratitude to theKaweah Health Hospice team for their compassionate care of Arnold during his final days, as well as for the kindness and support shown to them during this difficult time.
