Stephen W. Dunn

Stephen W. Dunn, “Papa” was born on December 23rd, 1948 in Lindsay, California. He went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 at his home in Exeter, California from a sudden heart attack.
Steve graduated from Exeter Union High School in 1967 and California Polytechnic State University in 1971. His professional life began with Gifford-Hill in Visalia (where he met his wife Stephanie). He became self-employed when he owned and operated a Baskin-Robbins in Fresno. He and his family moved back to Exeter, where he began his career as a plant engineer at NDS for 18 years before his retirement in February 2019.
He had a wide range of interests and hobbies. They included hiking, blacksmithing, welding, and music, to name a few. Papa loved to be outdoors and was at his happiest in the mountains.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Dunn.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Stephanie Dunn; his son Brandon Croghan and wife Lisa; his daughter Dusty Ward and husband Ryan; grandchildren Delaney Wickham and husband Ryan, Payton, Evelyn, and Maddy Ward, and Cullen and Lauren Croghan. He is also survived by his mother Carol Dunn; his sister Beverly Frazier and husband Morrie; his nephew Ryan Frazier and wife Brandy and children Mason and Jacey; his niece Molly Mandal and husband Sal and children Jayden and Sadie.
His family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude. Especially to each of our neighbors, friends, first responders, and our loved ones on the day of his passing. You were there for us. May God bless you richly.
A private viewing will be held for family at Smith Family Chapel on Thursday, December 5th, followed by a graveside service at Exeter District Cemetery at 10:00AM, open for all. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 11:00AM at Grace Community Church, 424 N Lovers Ln, Visalia CA 93292.
All donations made in Steve’s honor will go to Tulare-Kings Right to Life, 1716 W Walnut Ave., Visalia CA 93291.
