Tiny and Mighty child of God left this world to reign with angels, Wednesday, November 27, 2019.Shirley was Born into this world October 24, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, loved, cherished and a precious gift to her parents and siblings. In her teenage years, She met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart Dwight, whom she co-created a family that they built on the foundation of unconditional love. The two of them navigated the challenges of parenthood together as a team, created many memories including that of becoming Cub Scout family of year in 1959, she was a very creative and dedicated Den Mother. Endured and supported their sons, Don and Curt’s learning curves with musical instruments, that developed into amazing endeavors. She and her daughter, Sheree, shared a strong bond and were the best of friends.

She held a few jobs throughout her lifetime, primarily through the years she sewed for her husband in his Custom Upholstery Shop however, the last 18 years that she worked outside of the home and shop, was at Walmart in Visalia.  So many of her co-workers held a special place in her heart, they called/call her gramma-Shirley and she lived up to that title with all the love, support, pride and prayers of a true grandma whose heart was full.Her family, that have left this earth before her and have met her with open arms are, her Parents Lester and Alice, her Siblings(Spouses) Roger, Dorothy(Walt), Bess(Harold) and Jean(Greg), her sons Donald and Curtis and her grandson’s Donnie and Aaron.

Her family, here on earth, until they hug again are, her Husband of 71years Dwight, Daughter Sheree and Son-in-law Jay, daughter-in-law Fran,  grandchildren(Spouses) Cathy(Andy), Jevon(Kari), Devon(Emily), Brendon(Christin) and Amanda(Noah), Jason and Stephanie, her Nieces Joyce, Kathy, Dawn, Jeannie and Cheryll and Nephews Pete, Bill and James whom she loved as her own and her great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at The Visalia United Methodist Church,  5200 W. Caldwell,  January 11th, 2020 at 11am. Donations in her memory may be made to the Visalia United Methodist Church, (please put ‘Care Ministries’ on the memo line) or to a Cancer Research of your choice in her memory.
